Visual Arts

Bay View values the importance of the arts and includes visual art and music in our classroom learning. In addition to our creative classroom teachers, we have Santa Cruz City School District art and music teachers to provide additional standards-based instruction in music and visual art.

We are dedicated to working together to ensure the best arts experience possible for our children. An art education provides an opportunity for self directed learning and self expression, improves self esteem and confidence, sharpens concentration skills, and is associated with academic success in math and reading.

Art Cards

Each year Bay View has a fundraiser that lets parents buy cards made out of their child's artwork. These beautiful, colorful cards are a great way to celebrate your child's creativity. They also wonderful gifts for relatives and family friends!
Art Cards will be coming out in May for Mother's Day. Details will be sent out in a Monday folder in April.

Fourth Grade
Mural Project

The annual Fourth Grade mural project
is a celebrated tradition at Bay View.

This project not only beautifies the campus but also provides students an opportunity to collaborate with a local artist to create
their own unique public art. Students
enjoy being able to return to Bay View
years later to revisit their work.
